Its ony Just The Beginning

As we approached the 1 year anniversary of closing (and moving into) our house (July 26), I thought it was an appropriate time to finally start a blog about our journey.  I have only been thinking talking about it for a year now.


That journey, as I mentioned began last summer when Ben (my boyfriend/husband) and I bought a beautiful old farmhouse that dates somewhere around 1820.  We are talking a house that is close to 195 years old.  It has some issues here people.  But it is ours.  And we love it.

This blog?  This blog, I suppose is meant to serve an number of purposes:  inspire, keep family and friends updated on our latest home building adventures, but mostly, this blog is for us.   I am hoping this blog will serve many purposes.  I am hoping it will be my own outlet for the thoughts that sometimes refuse to quiet themselves.  I am hoping it will allow my boyfriend to keep his sanity as an outlet for some of my crazy ideas.  I am hoping to learn a few new things.  I am hoping it will be a great journal to look back on ten years from now and laugh at the ridiculous things that we thought we could get away with and the mistakes that were not funny at the time.  I am hoping it will motivate me us to continue to carve out a beautiful space in this world that we can call our own.
